International Grandmaster Ron W. Henley was Chief Trainer for the Eleventh World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov for nine World Championship matches. Early in their careers GM Henley worked with and sponsored World #7 and two time US Champion Hikaru Nakamura and three time US Women’s Champion Irina Krush. GM Henley also trained eight times scholastic national champion Daniel Edelman.

In his own playing career he was a member of the University of South Florida Pan American Championship Team and won the US Individual Association of College Unions International Championship. In addition to winning the World Open and the Board Two gold medal at the World Youth Team Championships in Mexico, GM Henley has won international chess tournaments in Indonesia, Columbia and Switzerland.

Ron W. Henley is an award winning chess author and producer of more than 60 chess videos. He is a regular contributor to and annual guest Grandmaster Lecturer at the National Open in Las Vegas.  

From 1985 thru 2001, Mr. Henley was an American Stock Exchange Member as a
trader, market maker and specialist. Mr. Henley, a British Master and world renowned Quant founded a statistical arbitrage family of hedge funds, with
several hundred million in assets under management for institutional
clients such as Bank of America and Aegon USA Insurance Company. He
recently served as Head of Execution for a New York based high-frequency
news-driven strategy connected to the execution algorithms of Goldman
Sachs and Credit Suisse. Mr. Henley has also served on the Board of
Directors of several private technology companies.

Currently, GM Ron W. Henley acts as Special Consultant on a selective basis to UltraHigh Net Worth Individuals, Family Offices and Asset Managers. In 2010 he was appointed by Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov as President of the World
Champions Council, a New York State Not-for Profit. He has been a featured
speaker at financial conferences in Monaco (GAIM 2010), New York City, Las
Vegas, Palm Beach, Raleigh North Carolina (CPA LAW FORUM) among others.
